My Story
I’m Moyosore Bakare, a Nigerian fashion designer known for my bold, structured aesthetic. Zahar is the reimagined identity of my former label, Heerabymab, and marks a new chapter in my journey as a designer. This rebrand represents my desire to make a lasting impact both locally and internationally, while staying true to the woman I design for.
My journey began as a child, sewing clothes for my dolls with leftover fabrics. What started as curiosity quickly became purpose. Through a youth development programme and later formal training at a fashion school in Lagos, I refined my skills and transitioned from hobbyist to professional designer. Over time, I built a growing clientele of women who sought statement pieces that spoke before they did.
Zahar is currently in its growth phase. My focus is on expanding the brand’s reach locally and globally, developing new collections, and establishing a strong, recognisable presence in the fashion space. With Zahar, my vision has become clearer — one rooted in elegance, confidence, and intention.
My designs are bold, clean, and unforgettable. I create for women who command attention effortlessly. Every Zahar piece is thoughtfully structured, emotionally resonant, and designed to stand out. I draw inspiration from many places — the fabric, the client, and the emotion of the moment — but I always make it my own. Zahar, which means sparkle, is about leaving a lasting impression.
